It’s happening! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 dates have been announced and in just a few days we’ll all be able to get a peek at the new fall and winter merchandise that will be available to shop when the sale goes live. Nordstrom is handling the Anniversary Sale a little differently this year– 1) they pushed back the sale until August (typically starts in July) and 2) this Friday July 24th they’re releasing an online preview of all the sale items so shoppers have plenty of time to plan their sale wishlist. 

Given the times, I’m incredibly happy that Nordstrom is releasing an early online preview of all the sale items. Typically Nordstrom just releases a small sneak peek in the catalogue and we don’t get to see everything that’s included in the sale until it actually goes live. In the past, I’ve always shopped the first day of the sale in store, but this year I’ll likely be placing my Anniversary Sale order online (as I’m sure many other folks will as well.) This very preggo mama thanks you, Nordstrom!

For those of you unfamiliar with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (aka #NSale), here’s a quick rundown. Every summer Nordstrom gives shoppers a chance to score insanely marked down new fall and winter merchandise from almost every brand carried at the store. The sale lasts for three weeks and when it ends every item goes back up to full price. It’s the perfect time to shop for new clothing and accessories, as well as home items and beauty goodies!

Why is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale such a big deal? 

Not sure what’s so great about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? It’s a lot to take in! But after 4+ years of loyally shopping the sale myself, I can tell you it’s worth taking advantage of the massive discounts and all the merchandise is BRAND NEW for fall and winter. Here are a few more reason why the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is special and unique:

+ It happens only once a year in the summer right as fall & winter styles begin hitting stores.
+ All departments will have discounts including men’s, shoes, handbags, beauty, athletic, home and kids – not just women’s clothing!
+ The selection is huge. There are literally thousands of items, many of which are exclusive just to Nordstrom aka you can’t shop them at any other store! All brands available at Nordstrom almost certainly will have some styles included in the sale. For example, in the past I found steals from so many of my personal favorites like Free People, Patagonia, The North Face, Sam Edelman, Tory Burch and Sole Society. + It’s an opportunity to shop for new fall & winter items or splurge on something designer at drastically discounted prices. FYI everything goes up to full price when the sale ends

Right now we don’t know the exact items but you can get an idea of what kind of items are included based on my finds last year. That said, I can assure you there will be THOUSANDS of markdowns. The sale is huge and includes hundreds of items from every department at Nordstrom: women’s, men’s, kids, home, shoes, handbags, beauty and athletic.

How can I shop Early Access to the sale? 

By signing up for Nordstrom credit card or by reaching the “Insider” spend status within The Nordy Club— aka Nordstrom’s rewards program that any shopper can join. You can read more about how the Nordy Club works HERE.

How do I sign up for a Nordstrom card?

You can apply for a Nordstrom credit card HERE. PS right now Nordstrom is offering a $60 Nordstrom Note (aka free money to shop at Nordstrom) when you sign up for a card.

Nordstrom offers two types of cards: the Nordstrom Visa card and the Nordstrom Retail card. Both allow you to earn 3 points per dollar spent in stores and online at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, HauteLook and Trunk Club. The difference with the Visa card is you can use it anywhere and earn 2x points on dining, travel and entertainment purchases. The Nordstrom Retail card can only be used at the Nordstrom-owned stores I listed above.

How can I make sure I score the products I want before they sell out?

Shop the sale as early as possible! The most popular items do sell out during the first few days of the Early Access period and likely won’t be restocked until August 31 when everything goes up to full price. Remember: Nordstrom has free shipping AND free returns. If you’re not sure of your sizing, you can always order both and easily return the one that doesn’t fit. I’ve been shopping at Nordstrom for years and have never had an issue with returning an item! They have the best customer service in the business.

I recently purchased this flutter sleeve blouse from Nordstrom Made brand Chelsea28 and love the length! It looks fab with white jeans and can easily be tucked in for a more polished and professional look. I’m looking forward to wearing it that way with high waist bottoms post-baby!
