Not Your Typical Lilly Pulitzer Shift Dress
Lilly Pulitzer Cassa Shift Dress

With every Lilly Pulitzer collection you always can expect to see the same favorite rotating designs. Classic shifts, flowy maxi dresses, silk tunics and printed scarves— every season has ’em just in new colors and prints. So if you follow the brand as closely as I do then it probably perks your attention when you see something unexpected like a crop top and skirt set (literally the best thing Lilly has done) or a shift dress with cutouts and a built-in bandeau.

Don’t get me wrong. I love a classic Lilly Pulitzer piece and probably have too many embroidered shifts and little white dresses in my closet. But I gotta say that after so many years of wearing and collecting LP, it’s the twists on the classic designs that really get me excited. Which brings me to this dress!

Cutouts and a bandeau may not be for everyone, but I really love how these details give this dress a youthful feel. There are also built-in cups (#score) so most likely you can get away with not wearing a bra– a definite plus in my book!

So I also want to touch on sizing. I always get asked so here’s what I wear in Lilly: size 0 in dresses and XS in everything else. In most brands I’m a size 2, however I’ve found Lilly tends to run a little large.

So I’m not sure how we’re already halfway through the month, but friendly reminder Memorial Day is creeping up! The first weekend of summer is always one of my favorite times of the year to wear Lilly– anyone else planning to do the same? You have just two weeks left to place an order! xo
