Photo Diary: Barbour Experience at Orvis Sandanona

If you follow me on Snapchat or Instagram, you may remember last week I went on a little adventure with the Barbour team. Once we arrived at the Orvis Sandanona Shooting Grounds, myself and the other attending bloggers and reporters received a full brand immersion aka a “Barbour Experience.” This included a full day of activities such as skeet shooting, a fly fishing lesson and off-roading in Land Rovers. Yes, you read that correctly!

I was wearing…

The cloudy and drizzly weather was perfectly in line with the day’s theme. I was even able to break out my new Barbour coat that I basically haven’t taken off in a week! When we arrived at the grounds, we had a quick lunch in the lodge and then split off into groups for our three activities. The shooting was probably my favorite because I’d never shot a gun before. Surprisingly I did a pretty good job – wayyy better than Nick! Fly fishing was a lot harder than it looks! It’s very technical and a lot of muscle memory is involved. I think to really get the hang of it I would need to spend the whole day taking a lesson – maybe next time?

We ended the afternoon with a Land Rover off-roading experience. I really admire the organic partnership between Barbour and Land Rover. Both brands were founded in the UK and very much value their history and heritage to this day. Did you know Barbour has a Range Rover women’s collection?

It’s not very often that I get the venture somewhere new outside of the city, especially during the work week, so big thank you to Barbour for having me! I you haven’t already, make sure you to snag yourself a new Barbour coat for the cooler months. You won’t regret the purchase – these are items that will last for years!
