In just under two weeks I’ll be boarding Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas for a getaway with Nick and a few of my blogger pals. I can’t wait! You may remember I took my first Royal Caribbean cruise in the Bahamas back in January and had an absolute blast. This time we’ll be leaving from New York Harbor and heading out on the seas to experience the cruise line’s newest smartship.
One of my favorite things about cruises is there is never a shortage of things to do and options for entertainment. I’m looking forward to trying all of the Anthem of the Seas adventure activities including the FlowRider surf simulator (I was too scared to try it last time), sky-diving in the RipCord by iFLY (the first skydiving experience at sea), the North Star observation capsule and circus school. Yes, you heard all of those things right!
Basically the Anthem of the Seas sounds like a thrill seeker’s paradise. Apparently there is a “Bionic Bar” powered solely by robots… So cool! I’m very excited to take you guys along with me as I explore my adventurous side.
More to come on my trip, but in the meantime I wanted to share my packing wish list! I’ve found that there are four types of attire needed for a cruise: swim, lounge, dinner and activities. Since I want to try out the water activities, a one-piece swimsuit is a must along with a cute coverup. We definitely plan on taking advantage of the dining options and getting dressed up for a night out and I have my eye on this Eliza J new arrival at Nordstrom. I don’t really plan on dressing over-the-top or “fashionable” on this trip, so cozy activewear is also at the top of my list.
Have you ever been on a cruise? What were your must-have essentials when packing?
