Afternoon in Georgetown

If there’s any place that can compete with the West Village when it comes to charm and character, it’s most definitely Georgetown. I enjoyed Georgetown when we visited last summer despite the sweltering heat (see the post here) but this time I fell in love even more. In just a matter of a few small blocks there’s every store you could want to shop at, great restaurants, cute little cobblestone streets lined with town homes and a gorgeous waterfront.

We went to Georgetown every day we were in D.C. On Friday night we had dinner at Bodega, a Spanish tapas restaurant, and then Saturday I went back with my girlfriends for cupcakes at Baked and Wired (THE BEST) and to rent some kayaks at the waterfront. It was so peaceful being able to get out on the water without the distraction of our phones and just catch up – missed my friends so much! Before we left on Sunday, we had lobster rolls at Luke’s Lobster, more cupcakes from Baked Wired and did a little shopping on M Street. Nick found a new shirt at Brooks Brothers but I was good and just window shopped (though I fell in love with these flats in Kate Spade).

Ah it really was such a great weekend – already planning my next visit!
