Mixed Prints & Brights | Karen Kane Coat

I was wearing…

NYC is getting cold my friends and it’s finally hitting me that I am about to experience my first northeast winter in four years. I really was spoiled by North Carolina’s mild and tame weather while I was in college (on average it’s about 20 degrees warmer there). So let me introduce you all to my new favorite coat by Karen Kane. Besides being warm, I love the faux fur collar and herringbone print.

In other news, I’m sure you can see that I decided to mix a few prints in this look! Sometimes I think magazines and bloggers take this trend a little too far (at least for my taste) but I think the zig zag print of my clutch, the pop of leopard from my belt and the herringbone print of the coat balance each other well. I’m still sporting the trend but in a way that’ feels appropriate and wearable for everyday.

It’s soo cold out! When I was visiting NYC over Christmas it didn’t feel that bad until the very last day and it was frigid! I love that you choose a bright and cheery outfit to combat the cold!

NYC has all of a sudden turned FREEZING! I can’t say I like it honestly, but it does give me an excuse to bundle up in cozy sweaters. Love this one–it’s such a fab color!

the zigzag clutch and neon sweater go so well together! I just LOVE that sweater! Target is the best, right?! And oh man New York is cold in the winter–especially if you’re not used to that! I’m in NJ where the weather is basically the same as NYC and ugh I hate the freezing winters! Getting up at 6 am for school and going out to my car in the dark and the frostbitten air is no fun at allll

Love all the texture in this outfit! The sweater and jacket are fantastic together, and even if you’re not warm, you look warm! I feel you on the cold, though – I ask myself all the time why the heck I didn’t move somewhere seasonless!
