As I mentioned in my previous post, you guys know I am OBSESSED with my grandma's faux fur head wrap! Whether casual or formal, I've been wearing this thing with every outfit. It's so warm! I added in my faux fur vest and my new Nine West shearling trimmed messenger bag to complete the look.
In other news, I can't believe I only have a week left before I leave for South Africa. I announced on my YouTube channel I'm studying abroad there for the month of January (video embedded below). I'm not sure how blogging is going to work out while I'm gone but I'm going to try my best! Wish me luck on packing. I'm not looking forward to it!
I may not have had Christmas in Moscow, more like Connecticut, but it sure felt like it wearing my Grandma's faux fur head wrap. I found this headwear gem on a shelf in her cedar closet and I've been wearing it daily since. I feel like it adds a touch of glamour to any outfit, plus it's warm and cozy without being real fur! I'm leaving today for Massachusetts to spend some time with my boyfriend and his family. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!
I finally found a place for all the leftover gold glitter I had from when I made my DIY pumps: on the tips of my nails. Although I know it will be a total pain to remove, I decided to apply the gold glitter to the tips of my nails for a sparkly holiday-themed french tip manicure. Nail art really isn't my speciality but it is nice to get creative every once in a while. What types of polishes or art are you exhibiting on your nails for the holidays?
P.S. I am on my way to Connecticut today to spend Christmas with my cousins. Happy Holidays everyone and safe travels!
some of the various products I brought home for break
I'm not the biggest fan of the holidays but I do love winter break because of the free time I have to focus on things that don't normally fit into my daily routine. Trying out beauty products I don't normally reach for. Drinking a cup of tea and eating a cookie. Going to an olive oil tasting with my Grandpa. Buying myself chocolate covered potato chips. It's the little things...
All photos are from Instagram! It's big change going from Blackberry to iPhone but I'm excited to embrace it. Follow me on Instagram @KatiesBliss!
I always think it's a shame when you buy a new cocktail dress but only have one or two occasions when you can wear it. So I decided to come up with a solution where I can wear my sequined dresses on a daily basis. By layering an oversized sweater on top on the dress and adding tights I think I effectively toned down the look and made the dress daytime appropriate. To each his own, but I could definitely rock this look daily.
I've been going through a heel phase over the past few months but after a day of walking around New York City I have to say my feet are lusting for some comfortable loafers. I had a full day of interviews and meetings in the city last week and if it wasn't for a pair of trusty flats I would not have made it through the day. Below are a few pairs of loafers I could see myself wearing within any price range.
This is the first time I've worn this Free People tunic since high school. I never could quite figure out how to style it in a way I felt comfortable. When I originally bought it I think I was planning on wearing it without a tank underneath...CLEARLY that was a bad idea, unless I was anticipating flashing my chest to my entire school. I came up with a solution to my awkward tunic quandary by layering an embroidered tank underneath and by pairing it with leggings. I've worn this tunic with jeans and I remember it felt so awkward because the tunic is almost long enough to wear as a dress, but with leggings I think it works. I added in the cinched-at-the-waist belt not because it was necessary, but just for another shade of purple.
When it comes to gifts I am all about accessories. I usually tend to ask for/ give smaller items as gifts since clothing, handbags and electronics run in much higher price ranges. This year I have many colorful and practical items on my radar. I don't expect to receive many of these gifts just because I am older and gift giving isn't a big deal in my family, but I made a collage of things I'd recommend to give you guys some ideas. All of these items are affordable and would please any fashion-minded girl.
