To my surprise, last night a tweet from Teen Vogue informed me that I had been selected as the best-dressed reader of the day! I'd submitted the featured photo a few weeks ago and had totally forgotten! Such a nice surprise. I was actually featured a few months ago here but was not sure if I'd ever be featured again. Thanks for all of your sweet words and comments on Twitter. It means a lot to me!

Fall Fashion Trends + Clothes Hound Store Visit
![]() I recently had the opportunity to visit Clothes Hound, a local boutique in Raleigh (they're online as well) to try on some of their fall fashions. I put together seven different outfits incorporating trends that I'm excited to try this fall. One of my favorite trends for the fall would have to be blush tones. My favorite piece that I tried on was a Paper Crown (Lauren Conrad's new clothing line) Grecian-inspired floor length gown. It was so casual but so sophisticated. The design definitely brings maxi dresses to whole other level. I made a video documenting the seven fall outfits I picked out. Please watch it and also subscribe to my YouTube channel! Keep reading for more pictures as well as details on the clothing! ![]() | |
Paper Crown Clementine Dress This was my favorite piece of the day. This dress would be perfect to wear to a wedding, summer party or even casually

I love the feminine floral detail on this menswear inspired dress. Such a fashionable oxymoron!

I personally bought these boots at the end of the day. I needed a pair and these were perfect! Love the distressed brown leather.

I can't wait until the day I can own a Chanel bag. Until then little inspired quilted bags like this are a good substitute!

Thanks so much to Clothes Hound for letting me play around in their store! It was fun trying on all the outfits. I hope you all liked the video I put together! Please let me know which outfit is your favorite.

Ladylike Lace + Blog Name Change!

I'm finally back at school gearing up for my last fall semester of college. Time really does fly! Can't believe I'm a senior already! After grabbing a Starbucks at the campus coffee shop my boyfriend and I did a little exploring around campus. I am really blessed to go to such a beautiful southern school. The charm really never wears off even though it's my fourth year here. After checking out the new bookstore we stopped to take some pictures in the gardens. I wore my new lace skirt from Forever21 paired with a J Crew button down. I've really surprised myself by becoming a skirt fanatic this summer. Never was much into them until I realized I couldn't wear jeans or shorts to work at my internship. Don't you just love growing up?

I was wearing...
Forever21 lace skirt
J Crew casual button down
Gap t-shirt
Steve Madden sandals
Michael Kors shoulder bag
Forever 21 necklace
Target cat-eye sunglasses
On another note! I changed my blog name and url to Katie's Bliss! I wanted something a little more personal with my name in it so I thought that Katie's Bliss was fitting. What do you think?
Also please keep checking back later this week! I have some really exciting posts coming up and I'm also planning my very first giveaway!

My First Manolos

Coming home from college is always a treat because I get to spend time with my grandma. Not only is she a fabulous cook, shopping buddy and mentor but she also has extremely great taste in shoes. When I'm home I always make sure to spend some time in her massive walk-in closet and sometimes if I'm lucky she'll pass down something to me. In the past she's given me little knick knacks or a piece of jewelry, but a few days ago she handed me this pair of Manolo Blahnik velvet slip on heels. Never did I think I'd be owning my first Manolos this young! I'm one step closer (no pun intended) to Carrie Bradshaw-esque style.

Blushing Layers

I love this outfit for two reasons. 1. It is extremely comfortable. I love the billowing folds of the skirt. Perfect for wrapping myself up in on the couch. 2. It is completely out of my comfort zone. I like to wear form-fitting clothing while also showing a little skin. This outfit could not be more of the opposite. With the long sleeve sweatshirt and floor length maxi skirt I could not be more covered up. It was a nice change though, perfect for a cool and casual day.

I was wearing...
H&M floral maxi skirt
Forever21 sweatshirt
Michael Kors shoulder bag
Me Too flats from DSW
Target cat-eye sunglasses
Michael Kors watch
J Crew bangle

Space Splatter Romper

Picked up this Matthew Williamson for impulse romper at Macy's the other day on clearance. Originally priced at $79 I snagged this one for $27.95! Such a steal right? I love the space-like design. Reminds me of a beige/blue supernova or some other type of weird extraterrestrial wonder I learned about in middle school. I also love the loose design and fit. You can't even tell it's a romper when it's on the hanger or when worn! Can't wait to walk around feeling like some cool space girl.
What do you think of designer collaborations? Did you purchase anything from the Matthew Williamson for impulse line?

Statement Earrings

This post would be even cooler if I could say that these earrings are mine. I actually bought these jeweled drop earrings for my sister when I visited the Alhambra in Spain four years ago. During my entire ten-day trip across Spain I spent my time searching for the perfect gift for my sister. She's an earrings enthusiast so I was happy to find these at a Moroccan roadside shop. Aren't the jewels the most perfect summer colors? I love pinks, greens and blues!

Cat-Eyes

Usually when I go to the pool I throw on a dress over a bikini but for some reason my outfit turned out very "put together" on this casual day. Since my internship is over and I'm home for a few weeks I've been spending a lot of time just relaxing with my sister. Our typical pool day involves hitting up the snackbar for some not so healthy fried food. Then we'll make our way up to the pool for the afternoon armed with our favorite magazines (Teen Vogue, Allure, etc...) and some girly novels (I just finished Red Riding Hood and I'm now starting The Carrie Diaries).
Any day out in the sun would not be complete without sunglasses. I have very sensitive light blue eyes so sometimes being out in the sun without a hat or sunglasses can be almost unbearable. Thank goodness for my cat-eye frames from Target! I just picked these up a few days ago and I can't stop wearing them! For $12.99 the quality is great and I love they way they fit.
What do you think?

I was wearing...
Petticoat Alley dress from Macy's (borrowed from my sister)
Target cat-eye sunglasses
Burberry tote bag
Steve Madden wedges
Michael Kors watch
