Must. Have. Sunglasses.

For my thirteenth birthday I was given one of the best presents a budding fashion addict could receive: a brand new pair of acetate Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses. For two whole months they were my most prized possession. I felt BEYOND cool wearing them. I was the chicest girl in the seventh grade. Then I lost them. I literally was physically ill the day it happened. I was devastated. For months I pined for my designer sunglasses. And for the next seven years I swore off expensive frames (or my mom refused to buy them for me). I could not go through the pain of losing another pair.

About a year ago I decided it was time to finally try again at being an owner of designer sunglasses. I bought a pair of Marc by Marc Jacobs aviators for $99 and I still own them to this day! It's a miracle! (Knock on wood) Since I've proven to myself I can take care of a pair of pricey frames I've decided it's time to expand my collection.

Of the ones above which pair do you think I should invest in first? I'm really digging the YSL cat-eyes...

1. House of Harlow Marie Sunglasses
2. Cheezy 80's Neon Frames
3. Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer
4. Prada "Baroque" Round Sunglasses

Ladylike Eyelet

May I present to you my new favorite skirt. I bought this pretty little number from J. Crew back in May and it has quickly become one of my most-reached for summer pieces. It's sophisticated enough to wear to work but casual enough that I can wear it to class in the fall. I've already started daydreaming about the large, boho sweaters and slub tops I am going to wear with it. In this outfit I've paired my pretty pink eyelet skirt with one of my absolute favorite Theory blouses. I love the color combination of pink and pewter. The harsh, masculine pewter color looks perfect against the femininity of the skirt.

Isn't my Grandma's havanese puppy Picabo cute?

Recent Beauty Lusts

If you know me, then you are aware I am absolutely obsessed with anything beauty-related. I mean I only spend half my time creating makeup tutorials and filming reviews on YouTube so I thought a beauty post on my blog was only fitting. You can also click here if you're interested in pursuing a career in the beauty industry.

I've been having a lot of fun this summer doing my hair and makeup each day before my internship and it has really sparked my interest in being more creative with my looks. One day I'll do a smokey eye with a bright lip. The next I'll wear just mascara and some apricot blush. Something new everyday!

Here are the products I am lusting after. As you can see my wants range everywhere from nail polish to haircare to bright lipsticks!

Rugged Comfort

I at first had trouble understanding the motorcycle boot trend. I didn't see the appeal in wearing a pair of rugged boots with an outfit that would otherwise be dainty and conservative. After receiving this pair from Wanted I decided to embrace my rougher side and pair the boots with jean shorts and a cutoff sweater. It's sometimes hard for me take risks when it comes to fashion but I thought this outfit was a good start. Life is short and it's nice to take a step away from the norm.

What I'm Wearing:
Sweater - Forever21
Jean Shorts - Forever21
Boots - c/o Wanted
Watch - Michael Kors
Bracelets - both from my Mom, a vintage charm bracelet and random one bought on a cruise
Sunglasses - Marc by Marc Jacobs

Bags to Melt My Heart

Everyone has their handbag soulmate. Some women like exotic oversized totes. Other like slouchy suede hobos. As for me,  my handbag soulmate would have to be the classic, square shoulder bag. There is something so sophisticated about a simple, minimalistic shoulder bag. I don't need embellishments, crocodile skin, multiple straps or bright colors. Just give me a good leather shoulder bag large enough to carry a french wallet, Blackberry, my keys, my iPod and a tube of my favorite lipstick. It can be quilted, striped, have a chain strap or a brass buckle. Just give me a timeless bag that will never go out of style.

Poolside Glamour

Guys. It's official. I am obsessed with stripes. So what better for a poolside outfit than a striped maxi dress? I bought this one at the J. Crew outlet two weeks ago and I don't think I could've made a better purchase. The light and airy fabric of this one made it the perfect coverup over my swimsuit. To make the look a little more glam I added in belt cinched at the waist and chandelier earrings. There's something so casual, but at the same time, so regal about maxi dresses. The length makes me feel like I'm wearing a gown. A very long, soft, cotton gown...

What I Wore:
J. Crew Striped Maxi Dress
J. Crew Belt
Forever21 Chandelier Earrings
Steve Madden Sandals
Coach Leather Hobo

Stripes on my Mind

Lately I've been ALL about stripes. They're so simple and convenient. They are like an accessory in themselves. Who needs a flashy bag or jewelry when you could easily throw on a striped shirt and a pair of jeans and be done? I've been wearing my J. Crew striped t-shirts a lot lately and I've become inspired to incorporate them more into my wardrobe. Since it's summer, stripes also can add a cool nautical touch to any look as seen on me here

9. Rag & Bone Fedora

What's your opinion on stripes? As you can tell I'm a big fan but then again they aren't for everyone. How do you incorporate stripes into your wardrobe?

Sailor Stripes

I went outlet shopping the other day and wore this cute striped romper. It reminds me of something a sailor would wear. The navy blue combined with the white stripes makes it perfect for summer. I paired it with a bib necklace and a statement ring, along with wedges and a leather hobo. I love rompers because all it takes is one article of clothing to make an entire look. Sometimes it's just too much work to pair a top with a bottom and be happy with the finished result. Don't you agree?

Floral Garden

Now that it's summer I can't get bright colors out of my mind. Especially when it comes to skirts. I picked up this lovely floral number from J. Crew a few weeks ago and I've been wearing it like crazy since. I feel like florals never go out of style. I mean how could they? When warm weather comes around I can't imagine not taking inspiration from the beautiful summer gardens.

I paired the skirt with a sheer blue tank top with a coral bra underneath. A little scandalous but I loved how the coral looked peeking through the top. It's okay to show a little skin in the summer right? Add in a straw sun hat, modest leather heels and a few bracelets and my look was complete.

I love stacking my bracelets in the summer.

What I was Wearing:
Michael Stars Tank Top
Helen Kaminski Sun Hat
Victoria's Secret Bra
J. Crew Belt
J. Crew Bracelets
Hobo International Leather Wallet
MAC Lipstick in Toxic Tale

What are you most excited about for summer? Are you a fan of floral like me?
