Thinking of Spring...

Lately the winter weather has really been getting me down. I miss wearing warm weather clothing and bright makeup. Hopefully the temperature will start going up in few weeks. Until then I'll just look and play with all my pretty spring makeup and nail polish :)

Trend: Wide-Brim Floppy Hats

Lately I've been seeing so many photos of celebrities and fashion A-listers sporting the wide-brim floppy hat trend. I've never been much of a hat girl but this is a trend I may want to try out for spring and summer. I love the idea of long flowing hair all topped off with a large, floppy felt hat.

Kate Husdon

As ostentatious as she is, I adore Kim Kardashian's style

What do you think of wide-brim, floppy hats? Passing trend or here to stay? Lust or must? Let me know below!

HERVÉ LÉGER BY MAX AZRIA - Fall 2011

Loving these dresses of the Herve Leger Fall 2011 runway. Very gladiator-like with the sleek hair, architectural straps, smokey eyes, and dark earthy colors huh? I love black and Earth-toned dresses. For me less is more at least when it comes to color.

I love Herve Leger dresses because they know exactly how to hug a woman's curves. I don't own any Herve dresses (*sigh* sooo expensive) but hopefully one day I will. Being slender and not having many curves I would love to see if one of these dresses could bring out the curves I do have. One day....

Warrior princess. The color of this dress looks amazing on this model's skin.

So simple. So chic.

Love the cinching at the waist with the gladiator belt!

I love the combination of houndstooth print and earthy green!

What do you think of Herve Leger dresses? Lust or must?

Celebrity Style - Camilla Belle

I came across this photo of Camilla Belle the other day and I am absolutely in love with her outfit. She's wearing head-to-toe Gucci Fall 2011. What I love most about her outfit is that she's flaunting two key fall trends: color-blocking and bright orange, both of which I am very excited about.

Camilla Belle, Vogue Diaries
Since I can't afford Gucci (one day...one day...) I put together an outfit inspired by Camilla's look. I think it's a bit more youthful and more my style. I prefer skirts to high-waisted pants and cardigans over blazers. I had to include the gold tassel belt and of course the stilettos.

In the Spirit of Valentine's Day: Beauty Lusts

One of the main reasons I love Valentine's Day is not only because I get to celebrate my relationship with my boyfriend but also because of all the cute, pink, and girly makeup that hits stores. I am obviously a big fan of pink so makeup and beauty products that involve hearts, sweet smells, and pretty packaging are right up my alley.

This week I plan on taking full advantage of the Valentine's Day spirit by wearing bright pink and purple makeup and using products that I otherwise would not wear as much.

Below are some products that I own as well as a few I'd love to wear this week.

Rebecca Taylor Fall 2011: Favorite Looks

Rebecca Taylor is by far one of my favorite designers. I only own 2 pieces by her but in the future I hope to purchase many more as my budget allows.

Her Fall 2011 collection featured printed lace, beading, pleats, cropped trousers, faux fur sleeves, embellished knits all infused with '70s boho glamour (I die!) The color palette included magenta, maroon, gray, and cobalt.

I've never been much a fan of '70s style but I think Rebecca Taylor pulls it off well. I love anything floral and shiny so this collection is right up my alley. It's the perfect mix of femininity, class, edge, and spunk. I'm particularly in love with the coats (I have an obsession for coats, particularly ones with embellishments.)

I. Want. This. Coat.

NY Fashion Week Fall 2011 - Day 1 Favorites

Yesterday was Day 1 of Fall 2011 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Let's just say all day I was glued to my Twitter feed constantly looking at designer updates. One day I hopefully will get to attend Fashion Week until then I'll just stick the Elle.com and my favorite blogs.

Spring Beauty Trend - Nail Art

While perusing my favorite websites I came across a spread on teenvogue.com all about nail art. Lately I've become really into doing my nails. I'm talking like 3 times a week. I've probably bought more nail polish within the last two months than I've ever bought in my entire life.

In my younger years I could never get into nail polish for a few reasons 1) because I was a chronic nail biter and really didn't like the taste of polish in my mouth while chewing on my fingers 2) I'm sloppy and always got polish on skin 3) I'm impatient and even if I did get the polish looking good I'd always not wait long enough for it to dry, thus botching the whole design.

Over the past six months I've kicked my nail biting habit and the way I curb my desire to chew them off is by painting them with very pretty nail polishes. As much as I like biting my nails I happen to like how pretty they look, long and polished,

Check out these nail art photos from Teen Vogue. One day I aspire to do designs like this. For now though I think I'll just stick to base coat, polish, top coat. However I can dream...

Celebrity Style - Lo Bosworth

I've never been a fan of Lo Bosworth's personality or the character that she portrayed on The Hills, I always felt like she just followed Lauren around, didn't have much of a life, and was just really snobby and rude. But in recent months I've taken more notice of her due to her classic and minimalistic style. I came across this photo of her recently and it just exemplifies the saying that "less is more." When it comes to personal style I am very minimalistic. I like wearing simple t-shirts, a nice-fitting pair of pants, elegant heels, and a statement bag. I would 100% wear Lo's outfit below. It is so simple but so stylish. I'm in looove.

Sourcc: Vogue Diaries

Here is my interpretation of her outfit below. I of course had to include the Balenciaga "City" Bag! Wish I could afford one!

What do you think of Lo's style? Too casual? What did you think of her on the Hills? Snobby or misunderstood? As always let me know below!

Padded Shoulders for a Night Out

This past weekend I decided it was time to finally get dressed up and go out with my friends. Partying is really of not much interest to me. I'd much rather stay in on a Friday and order a pizza and watch a movie. But since I'm in college and I was invited to a party I decided to take advantage of my situation and use it as an excuse to get dolled up, put on some makeup, and wear heels.

Yes I'm standing on my bed

What I wore: Padded Shoulder Sweater - French Connection / Skirt - Forever21 / Pumps - Antonio Melani / Purse - Steve Madden / Earrings - Bebe / Necklace - Unknown

I decided to wear my padded shoulder French Connection sweater because it was cold and also because I love how it makes any outfit edgy. I really dig the padded shoulder trend and hope that it stays in style. I chose to wear my teal F21 skirt high-waisted because I wanted something simple that made me look slim and really made the outfit pop. Then I paired it with simple black pumps because I wanted a slight heel and some height. The Steve Madden bag I chose is my go-to bag whenever I go out with friends. I can wear it around my shoulder so then I know where my belongings are the entire night. Freshman year I knew many girls who had horror stories of losing their keys, IDs, and phones out at parties. Yeah...that won't happen with me since I have my trusty bag :) Finished the look with my hanging Bebe earrings that I've had for year. They are my go-to earrings for nighttime looks.

What do you think of my outfit? Appropriate for a college party? Do you like the padded shoulder trend?

New MAC Purchases

While I was home last week I was able to stop by MAC with my mom where I picked up a few things from the permanent collection I'd been eyeing. I feel like I'm always buying items from the limited-edition collections and that I always forget to pick up the things I want from the permanent line. I decided to get 2 neutral-colored shadows and 1 that was more dramatic and out of my comfort zone. I also wanted to get a peach blush since I recently broke the one that I had. Check out what I got below...

I feel like Satin Taupe and All That Glitters are going to be great colors added into my everyday routine, All That Glitters for on the lid and Satin Taupe in the crease. I got Steamy because I thought it would be great on the lower lash line as a color-pop.

All of the eyeshadows are very pigmented with shimmer.

Springsheen is a sheer peach blush with a slight amount of shimmer. A perfect blush for casual looks in the warmer months.

With only one swipe this blush is sheer but with three you can easily build up the color.
What do you think of my purchases? Do you own any of these items? Let me know what you think below!
