Madonna's Unretouched D&G Photos Leaked!

While browsing Twitter headlines today I stumbled across an article about Madonna's unretouched D&G photos for their spring/summer ad campaign.

Here is both Madge's unretouched and retouched photos side-by-side.

I'm really not one to promote retouching but in this case I think it's necessary. Madge's arm veins and strange muscle definition are just too freaky to keep in an ad. Good thing they retouched, bad thing these photos got released. D&G should work on keeping their office doors locked!

I don't even really understand why D&G is using her as a spokesmodel. When I think of D&G I think of actresses and models like Megan Fox, Kate Moss, and Scarlett Johansson. To me D&G is a brand that is sultry and sexy. These are not words I think of when someone says "Madonna."

Here are some more unretouched and retouched celebrity photos! For those interested in producing great looking pictures, Guide to Career Education offers photography and art courses.

I love Kim K, cellulite and all. She is gorgeous and I'd be happy to look at any picture of her.

Here is Katherine Heigl before and after retouching. They definitely slimmed her waist and breasts in the retouched photo as well as colored her skin. I can really only notice the difference because I knew ahead of time that the picture on the right was retouched.

What do you think about celebrity retouching? Necessary or unnecessary? What do you think about Madonna as a D&G spokesmodel? Hit or Miss for D&G?

Let me know!

Get the Look - Anne Vyalitsyna in Maroon 5's Misery

As soon as I watched Maroon 5's video for Misery I was in love. Not only with the song but also the entire style of the video. Anne Vyalitsyna (Adam Levine's real-life girlfriend) plays the female lead in the video where she basically gets to kick Levine's butt (awesome concept.) In the video Vyalitsyna is decked out in a sexy denim crop top and jeans with punk accessories. I absolutely love this look because its so simple and sexy. I'm also loving her hair in this video, very Brigitte Bardot-esque. I also am obsessed with wearing my hair in a side braid so basically this hair style is my dream look.

Revenge of the nerds: Geeky Glasses

One of the most quirky trends being embraced right now would have to be quirky, nerdy glasses. You can basically buy these frames anywhere including Urban Outfitters and American Apparel. Designer brands such as Kate Spade and Oliver Peoples are also displaying the look in their new collections. Here are some of my favorite nerdy glasses!

Asos Clear Lens Quirky Reader Glasses
$16.95

American Apparel Carson Eyeglasses
$45
Urban Outfitters Study Hall Sunglasses
$10

Oliver Peoples Sheldrake D-frame acetate glasses
$195

I love this Oliver Peoples ad featuring Shirley Manson, lead singer of the band Garbage.

Even LC has been spotted rocking the look!

What do you think? Is this just another fad or is nerdy now cool?

Fall Trend: Rugged, Lace-up, High-Heeled Boots

This fall one the biggest styles to hit the world of shoes is the laced-up, high-heeled boot. Now, there's nothing new about high-heeled boots but this year designers are adding a new twist to the trend by adding a rugged, outdoors-y feel to their boots.

Top designers from Thakoon to Ralph Lauren all the way to more mainstream brands such as Mudd and Ninewest are embracing this look in their fall collections.

If you're in love with this look and want to splurge, here are some of my lusts.

 DSquared2 - J002 V025 20 Boots
$999
This is my absolute most favorite boot for this trend. Too bad I don't have $1000 to splurge on a pair. Although these boots are out of reach for many I had to include them. I love how rugged and simple they are while still looking chic and trendy. The shearling detail around the ankle is also to-die-for.

Ralph Lauren - Forala Boots
$795
I love these boots because they channel a rugged, military style. Also who doesn't love Ralph Lauren?

Alaïa - Lace-up, Suede Ankle Boots
$1,710
I can just imagine myself wearing these boots with black tights and a black knit mini dress. These boots are gorgeous and I envy anyone who owns them. Perfect for the cold winter months and walking around icy city sidewalks. Buy me a pair please?

Now for those of us who don't have thousands of dollars to spend on boots here are some options to achieve this look without breaking the bank.

Tory Burch - Oren Bootie
$396
Tory Burch is by far one of my favorite shoe designers. Her shoes are great because they aren't extravagantly expensive but you still get that feeling of wearing a high fashion item. I already own a few pairs of her famous Reva flats and now I might have to add the Oren bootie to my closet. Although these boots don't exactly follow the lace-up trend I love the leather and buckle detail as well as the rubber traction on the sole of the boot.

DV Dolce Vita "Prince" Speed Lace-Up Boots
$150
Buy Here

I actually might buy these boots. Now. They fit the trend perfectly and are the perfect price for my budget. They also look quite similar to the $1000+ Alaïa boots :D

 Jeffrey Campbell Boot Camp Boots
$166
Buy Here

I love these boots because of their dramatic lace-up front and the double leather wrap around the ankle. I'd wear these boots with slouched socks or leggings with a flowy floral sundress and cardigan.

So let me know if you're feeling this trend. I definitely love high heels and boots so I might have to go out and purchase myself a pair. Happy shopping!

Lilly Pulitzer - Planners

Since I'm back at school and starting classes I need something to keep me organized. That's where my Lilly Pulitzer planner comes in. My past two years of college I always purchased a boring, simple planner from the bookstore so this year I wanted to try something new. Many of my friends highly reccomended the Lilly planner not just because its colorful and cute, but also because it does keep you very well organized.

Lilly's large planner is 17 months (August 2010 thru 2011) and is complete with weekly and monthly calendar pages, dates to remember, contacts, and notes. It also includes tons of fun Lilly inspired stickers :D

Here are the 3 different patterns the large planner comes in for 2011.
